Hi All,

I have read conflicting threads on here as to the availability of touch up paint in Biomorphic Green. At one end of the scale was "they don't exist - you'd need to pay £300+ direct to Dupont in the States" and at the other was "you can get it at Halfords for £7.99".

Ever the optimist, I thought I'd try the Halfords route. Looking on their Holts paint mixing computer, it didn't have Biomorphic Green, but given that a good chunk of the latest MGR paints were will listed under British Leyland :wtf: we decided to have a look through the sample books they have there.

Eureka! It turns out that something called "Monogram Casino Royal" was an exact match! We took the little sample strip out to the car, and it was definitely the right one! :bgrin2:

When they'd mixed the colour, I looked at it, and thought it seemed darker than the paint on the car. Given that many paints change colour from wet to dry, though, I decided to try it out on a small scratch. Unfortunately, it dried a slightly darker shade as well :sad2:

Now, although this shade is better than "toner white" or "bare metal", and will of course restore some protection to the bare metal on the couple of pain chips on the bonnet, it is still noticeably different. Obviously not an ideal state of affairs!

Assuming that Biomorphic Green really is impossible to obtain (or at least at a realistic price), has anyone found another manufacturer's colour that is close enough for small paint chips?

I will be taking this one back to Halfords anyway, as the sample strip very definitely WAS Biomorphic Green, so I'm hoping that they just mixed it wrong, but I'm not holding out too much hope there.

The MINI is now available with most of the paint options previously available under MG Rover's Monogram program.

Several of the colours even have the same name, I'm not sure if BMW are offering Biomorphic Green but there is a good chance and if they are then you could obtain touch up paint from them !

Hi Womble

I bought some Biomorphic Green touch up paint from a company called Paints4u.com They sell a 100ml tin & brush for £9.49 inc P&P.
I'm impressed with both the match & their service.
