Hi there,

Have a 96P 220 SD and looking to add an intercooler.

I've been told I need all this..
the intercooler itself
metal pipe that goes from turbo over the engine
rubber pipe from metal pipe to bottom of intercooler
rubber pipe from the top of the intercooler to the inlet alloy inlet pipe
alloy inlet pipe that connects to manifold
alloy manifold

blanking plate to cover EGR valve opening in alloy inlet pipe

1) Can I lift all the parts I need off a 97 420 SDi?
2) Do I just DIY my own blanking plate?
3) Anything else I need?

Thanks in advance!

that list seems about right, yer should be able to lift all components from the sdi. u can buy proper blanking plates for a few quid, think wingy777 does them. u will need to alter the throotle cable mount. ohter than that ask friggerpants as hes done it.

Hmm might just buy decat pipe and blanking plate form Wingy then! So strapped for cash atm though! Car still needs new cylinder head first haha
2 weeks til start working! :(
Ok thanks think I'll just buy all the intercooler parts off the 420!
Cheers!

Oh yeah, as Kamal says, the airline goes Turbo - bottom of intercooler - Top of ntercooler - manifold, where as on a 200 sdi it'd go turbo - Top of intercooler - bottom of intercooler - manifold, but that don't matter really.

You can always change pipes later on in life if it caused propblems.

intercooler from a 400 is not a straight fit...i have done mine a week ago and took an intercooler from a r400 and its not a straight fit...the bottom mounting is on a different place and u have almost no space to manipulate with the intercooler...
