Knock/click from ??engine movement

Hi All,

I've noticed a metallic knock/click that occurs once when I start the engine on my TF. It also occurs once when I change gear (at the point I lift the clutch) and once again if I take my foot off the accelerator pedal and engine braking occurs. From both inside and outside the car, it sounds like it's coming from behind the driver.

My assumption is that it's caused by engine movement since it happens when starting the engine, with the car not in gear. If that's the case, any ideas where I should be looking for the culprit? How many engine mounts are there besides the one underneath (I have a torque tamer polybush for this already)? Is there anything else that might be causing this noise?

In case anyone finds this thread from a search in the future:

It was the large bush in the torque tamer bar under the engine. It was really loose and soggy. Replaced both bushes with polyurethane ones and the noise has ceased.

Yes, someone DID find this later on - where did you get your bits from? I have had my TF for a month and started to deal with the shortfalls from pervious ownership- it had the noise from day 1- a clunk/vibration. I replaced the backbox which was rusty and found that the flexipipe was broken- so did that as well. The cars quieter but the cluck when I pull away or change gear is still evident- so I assume its the rubbers. I know its not te exhaust as its solid as a rock now. Thanks!
