I only have one key fob for my F 1997 so would like another one to be programmed. Not an easy task around this part of the world because first I have to get a garage with a computer that could read the F.
On the other hand I own two extra fobs that came with the original ECU and immobiliser, however am a bit concerned about the whole process taken by unexperienced hands -what if they spoil the only working fob, could that be possible?
So my question is where I could 'Key Fobs Programming Instructions' to be delivered to the people that will do the job?
Many thanks
Mike

The memory is wiped and all keys are then programmed, so yes there is a possibility of losing your working fob. However, if they have the equipment, it's pretty straightforward so I don't think it'd be a problem. The instructions would depend on the kit being used.

The Autodiagnos kit can do it, which was the Volvo OE tool over here and then expanded into all makes- I'm not sure what is the norm in Argentina.

If they've got one of these with Multi-Cartridge 2 and the universal/CAN-1 lead, it'll do it, assuming it's the same software as over here. Other kits can do it, but this one I know for sure does it.

Hope this is of some help :)

You can recode with the Pscan diagnostic tool, I bought an extra fob, pscan coded them quickly and easily. Make sure the batteries are good in your fob, My first attempt was disasterous and both fobs were erased, I changed the batteries and went through the set up again and it coded them within 5 minutes. Just follow the on screen instructions

Holy Thread Revival Batman! This is 13 years old....Agree though using the pscan is straight forward and a pleasure to use.
