Anyone have an idea how to get the streering wheel controls working?

they never worked with the OEM Philips R770

The wires in the back to the Kenwood are just the ISO ones. There was an extra plug on the Philips R770, a long & thin one (1 3/4 x 1/4"). I assume it also connected to the LCD display aswell. At the moment this plug is not attached to the radio (& it works o.k.) . there is a socket in the radio (a round one with numerous pins) that is supposed to control the steering wheel controls (& LCD display also?).

So, if i can connect the round socket to the long thin one. will it work??????????

Car is Rover 45 1.4 is

Ps Anyone know why Rover CD changers are so chuffin' expensive. It's cheaper to buy a new Head unit (inc MP3)!!!!

You have to buy the steering remote adapter to make your kenwood work with the steering controls, varies in price from £20 to £50. there may be some on ebay. check out http://www.caraudiodirect.com/ and click on the option for steering controls

The wiring for the steering remote is in the ISO connector, the long thing plug is for the ice display. The Kenwood wont operate the dash display unless you can find someone selling the dash adapter which is hard to find as most people have stopped selling them.

Hope this helps
