I think this is my first thread in here :O

Anyway, just looking around for a head unit for a Kenwood CD Changer (so naturally, needs to be a kenwood) and found a 579R...

Just wondering if anyone knew anything about it and whether its any good..? I can't seem to find any reviews online (I think I've found a opportunity for a new website.. ;))

I wouldn't touch it personally. Why not sell the kenwood changer on ebay, and buy another manufacturer's changer on ebay so that you have freedom to move to a different brand?

[edit] Oh, and how much are you looking at spending on the headunit?

Preferably under £50, but I want one with the dot matrix style display rather than the LCD style - if you know what I mean! It only needs to act as the head unit.

The changer is a Keg, so naturally, don't want to change it ;)

The rest of the sound system in the car probably won't get changed from OEM, well the speakers may, but nothing serious. All it needs to do is control the keg & display the ID3 tags well (hence the display)

Yeah, that player of yours would be great - its £150 too much though ;)

Bah, back to the ebay listings then. :s

i had one of these in my 200/25 b4 i got my mp3 player.

it's an ok head unit....no frills but does the job.

my only complaint was that the buttons are quite small and can be hard to pick out.
