does any1 no if these two engines (k8 and k16) have the same bottom ends?
As I explained in my pm, basically the same BUT, make sure there are cut outs in the piston heads if fitting 16v heads to some 8v bottom halves.....

Otherwise ' keerruunnchh ' may occur ...:(

Always wise to turn over a reassembled engine S L O W L Y by hand with the plugs removed just in case ... even if refitting the original cylinder head to the same engine because the valve timing may be 'out'.

yeah if you have a 8v K-series, you can swap head to 16v if you have the cuts outs for both 16v and 8v heads, this is found on 1.4's from R reg and on, some P regs have had this aswell but its pot luck.

Any k-series head will bolt on any k-series bottom end, just some wont turn over, as valves may hit pistons, or piston liners if fitting a vvc head to less than 1.8, ie if you put a 8v head on a 1.8 it only has 16v cut outs so wont work.
