Well, I couldn't believe my eyes. In Tescos this evening the Scoop photos of the next Discovery on the cover of AutoExcess grabbed my attention.
'Get thee behind me' I thought... but resistance was futile, I had to take a closer look. Then to my amazement a three page article on what a brilliant engine the K series engine is!
Must be some kind of hoax I thought, they don't usually have anything good to say about British products, but no, very positive - could this really be the Auto Express we love to hate? Writing something nice about an MGR product, a glowing appraisal of our beloved K Series?
I know this sounds really far fetched, but it's worth a look - I almost actually considered buying it for a moment, but it wasn't long before I began to feel it sucking the life force out of me and I just managed, trembling with disgust to get the vile thing back on the shelf where it belongs.
Worth a quick look though if you're passing a news agents tomorrow...

Seen same thing posted already on another forum the below

Autodistress pos+ MGR press
In this weeks autodistress there is a feature on the K series engine and although it is 15yrs old they never slated quite the opposite they said it was flexible thus the fact it used in a wide range of vehicles and manufacturers, from the Ariel Atom - new Streetwise.

As well as this they had a pic nearer front of mag of the SV interior snapped by someone from another forum that they have put in their mag.

Oh and another thing about a Census which MGR purchased snapped outside longbridge, MGR denied they were thinking of buying Census the firm but stressed that they did purchase the car. Also states that census has a few MGR former employees and that the car was developed using some of the F bits.

The thing that grates me about autodistress is that they always print conflicting info like the other weak they printed their 1st drive of the Daewoo Kalos Sports (or something) and had the ZR as a alternative + points were aggresive styling - point aged engine make up your mind.

It also has a 'Bentley, son of 75' photo comparison.

Having seen the Bentley in the flesh it does look like a modded 75...spooky!

Even more spooky when you consider that the first of the new generation Skodas (the Octavia? cant remember...) looks like a MkII 800 has pupped...

Off topic, but it seems to me the only really innovative stylists in VAG all live at SEAT.
