Glad to hear of another happy customer for K&N. Word of caution though, if you go and stick an aftermarket exhaust on, you'll kill the sound of the K&N. Stick with the standard rear silencer for a while longer so you can enjoy the K&N. You'll love the 52mm Throttle Body. :cloud9:

I think my K&N went on in September 2005, and the Daytona followed on in March 2006. Totally killed my K&N which I can't hear at all now. Because of this I'm forking out for an enclosed induction kit later this year. (Not that I'm complaining!)

since putting my exhaust on i thought i would lose the induction noise but i havent.

exhaust it predominant until 3.5k then induction kicks in and takes over at 4.5k so i get to hear both when im gunning it which is sweet!

mind u tho i havnt hear either in a bout 2.5 weeks cus im still waiting for my car to come back from the garage after hgf.!!! it was supposed to be done days and days ago! swear their doing it deliberately

I actually have an enclosure at home, Adrian (Clifford) got a batch last year from the continent. I tried fitting it last year, simple in theory - however the length of the enclosure was slightly too long for the gap around the filter. It looks ok, but as te engine is started it catches on the bulkhead and works the K&N loose. :scary: Rest assured it was removed quickly after I discovered the problem and hasn't be back on since.

Had a K+N on a corsa GSi. For a four pot the rip off it was tremendous. Shame bout the fuel consumption :shake:

Tried one on my ZR 160, which was pretty loud before hand and didnt have as good an effect. Back to standard to save fuel. :)

Had one thrown on my astra GSi with a few other engine mods. :sexwee: 240 horses growling at you followed by can of whup ass being opened. brrrrrrm tssssh  6mpg to the gallon to hear that noise :errx2:

If I remember rightly, the enclosure is fixed by a bracket which sits at the base of the filter inducation tube, near the throttle body. This can be fitted through the inspection grill, so the engine cover doesn't need to be removed. It dislodges when the engine shudders when it turns over. Not too fussed, jut means I'll throw some more money at the car.

The K&N is great, after being taken out for a roof down drive in light snow along some great country lanes in an F with a K&N and a rather enthusiastic driver I ordered mine 2 days later. I couldn't believe the noise the K&N made, it was the first of many modifications to be made to a car I had planned to leave standard. Once the move to the darkside starts theres no stopping it.

I've not been able to hear my K&N after fitting my TT exhaust so have decided to replace it with an enclosed system which I have sitting at home waiting to be fitted this weekend. I'm fitting a BMC CDA carbon enclosed system.

Well done Wild Murphy, it was one of my first mods the K&n57i and worth every penny, i had mine for 2 years but upgraded to Taipan beast enclosed, but i don't half miss that roar:D you will find as you say even better when you fit 52mmTB and sports exhaust. don't forget 8.5mm Magnecor leads and something like NGK Platinum laser plugs, i have all these fitted mentioned here, oops nearly forgot, and cat bypass pipe, ha ha
