Hi ya guys and gals :)

New guy here lol..

I have had a Clio 1.6 16v (110bhp) since new late 2004 (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/nk7600/Photo-0038.jpg, http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/nk7600/MyClio2.jpg, http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/nk7600/1105019561__Picture075.jpg
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/nk7600/MyClio.jpg,) and decided to trade it in. Will miss the Xenons though and Climate Control :(...

I traded in my Clio for this MG TF 160:

TBH I have been looking for ages for a TF160 with low mileage (That MGTF has done 16k miles) and been noticing that on Autotrader they are all 135's or 115's and the rest of the 160's are high mileage.

I got 5.5k trade in for Clio (after 2 and a half hours of haggaling) and need to pay 3.5k in cash for MG TF. I did test drive the car and really liked it :)

Congratulations on the TF! :D

I must say I don't know a lot about Clio's but I think you made the right choice! ;)

Welcome,

Noticed no spare wheel. Does anyone else drive without one? Might get rid of the extra weight but am curious about the balance.

It handles much better with one in there. Also it's safer in the event of a puncture :)

I was told I don't need one as I have got the Foam?.

Also There are 2 keys, but only 1 Locking fob. I want another one, so can that be done at a normal garage?.

likin it!! gotta say you have made a wise decision in getting rid of the clio as this is what happened to mine!! ;) heard so many horror stories about the car snaking under braking and light at the rear and this is the result!

I must say that i ma loving that red hood and red alcantera with the smoked centre console and door caps!! uh oh, my mind is wandering again, better put the wallet somewhere out the way!!

Looks a nasty crash there mate?. I did like the Clio alot as it was my first car and I bought all the xtras (same as a 182, except Cruise Control and the 2.0l engine lol). I thought it handled ok?. I just wanted something different!.

Yeah same as, i had it for 18 months from new and upgraded the lot as wanted one for a while when i was younger! The ironic thing was i was considering an F wile i had the car!! one word FATE!!!!

EDIT: I was never happy with the handling in sporty driving but it was fun to drive ;)

Can never see myself even considering selling my TF so enjoy!!

Nice TF, the1! Welcome to the assylum... Loving the red hood...but....I think you should give it to me so it will match my red interior/cockpit!

As for the spare tyre, I really would invest in one. I had just the gunk...and wished I had a spare when my tyre was ripped to shreds in a blow-out! It also helps the handling/feel of the car immensely with the extra weight in the front.

Nice TF and welcome to the org!

Spare wheel definately helps the handling.

Taliking of the gunk that comes courtesy of MGR's nosedive project I finally got to use it yesterday. When, wearing myself out with my annual detail (never again! but thats another story), some poor sod limped pass with a flat. So I called him over and filled his wheel with the gunk. It did the trick too!

Of course I'd never dream of using it on my wheels :minxy: thats what my spare wheels for!

Hmm my 10k 03 135 was £8k in September '05, so you might have been paying a bit more than nessecary for a 160, but as long as you're happy :)

Yeah but that was for a 135 :D . Nice hat by the way.

Welcome to the forum.

I bought my 04 160 last dec and it was £8495. It all depends on whether you think it was a good deal, sounds OK and it sounds as though you got a decent part ex.

Happy motoring, and don't forget, the fun starts at 5000rpm with the VVC, just make sure it's warmed up first.
