check out this thread. is 3.4% too big an increase in diameter size. i really want the tyres but if it definately is a bad idea then i will have to go a width lower. i am running 205/50/15, i really want 225/50/15.

they reccommend an increase no bigger than 2.5%, so is 3.4% too big????
Deano, they recommend an increase of +2% or -3%, so +3.4% is way over.

Well Deano I will help you buy them !

Look at the tech specs of the tire:
http://www.toyo.com/tires/tire_specsheet.cfm?id=2

The rim width is 6J for the 15" wheels isn't it ? It will fit then !

Mike Satur uses 215x40x17 on the rear for the 17" Throphy style wheels. They make 869 turns to go 1 mile. the 225x50x15 make 868 turns to go 1 mile. So basically you should be fine. (correct me if I'm wrong)

I think the tires might look a little like baloons when fitted though.

toyo themselvs ahve said they wont fit. its just 10mm too much.
and by buying 215/45/15's i can save over 50 quid.

contrary to peoples beliefs, i am unsure, sharky says no and not does a performance tyre company say no but also toyo themselves say no. so i will err on the side of caution and buy the proxes t1-r rf 's instead.

already have decied i wont be buying f1's for the rear with already scrubbed in proxes on the front, i would just be asking for trouble, so am gonna use another set of proxes for the rears until my fronts wera down a bit more then i can change all 4 for something new.
really i want 4 new alloys kitted out with toyo R888's for the summer then my normal alloys with something else for the winter.
