Not strictly a technical question but I can't see where else to put it,

My insurance is up at the end of the month and I want to change cars to a vvc coupe, only hassle is insurance as I am currently wasting time going through all the companies only to be told 'no' due to my age.

I have had my full licence since august, and have covered 6000 miles since then, am 18 and have 1 years no claims. Only kicker being that someone drove into me in a car park and tried to claim and although my insurance company have said it wasn't my fault it still affects the premiums.

Does anyone know of a good company to try in that situation?

Endsleigh had given me a quote of 1,800 when i had 0 ncb for a group 6 car  ...compared to the 700 to 1000 range all the other companies were offering. And that was with the 'imaginary' student discount

Try Thames City.

The work with over 100 brokers to get you a really good deal.

Also my premium didn't rise with Alloys, Lowered springs and dampers, or a stainless steel exhaust.

Well my plans are on hold for the time being, my joke of an insurance company sent me a letter today to tell me they had made a mistake and the accident in febuary is not yet resolved, and they havent done anything about it since early march. They therefore have to hold my no claims discount until it is resolved which could take over 6 months.

i think you should consider the posibility that you may have to wait a few years before getting a 2litre turbo
or even a VVC as this is what he posted ;)

Well it may not be as hopeless as it seems to be, If I wait the 4 months until my 19th the insurance is only about £800-£900, and hopefully by then my insurance company will have actually sorted out this 'claim'. Its worth noting that my no claims is being witheld because my company thought that the other person had admitted liability when they hadn't, not because they have decided I am at fault.

Its very difficult to be at fault in a stationary vehicle.
