This may be a long shot but those of you with an MG ZR and know your emergency immobiliser code (for if your fob faults), if you check your key fob on the back under the part saying 433 MHz there is a line ending in a 4 digit number.

Does this match your code?

If so that would be awesome because I cant be bothered to extract the code from the ECU... and there was only one fob and no spares so it would save me time if this long shot is true.

You know the code is stored in the Lucas 5AS box right? Not the engine ECU.

Oh, and that 4 digit number, unless written on by hand, won't be your security number!

I know its quite far fetched, however I dont see why it shouldn't be when i thought about it. I mean... when it comes down to it the fob is what you need to mobilise, so if you have the fob, the emergency code is fine to have imprinted after all its not a security code... the key/fob is the security.
