Hi I'm new to this forum
A little bit of my background on my dealings with MG
I ordered a new MG HS Excite Auto in blue early July 2021 and was told delivery would be October 2021 that became November then December now can not get any updates have been told chip shortage then MG are changing the blue and that would be a few weeks hold up until colour update as of 11th January still no delivery date after 7 months, I have found the names of 3 ships MG have used to deliver to UK in the past and have been looking on a ship tracker application but none are near or on way to UK
Can I ask if anyone else is having delivery problems or have heard any news on deliveries from there dealer or any information on ships or shipping routes, it would be nice to find out any information as I'm beginning to forget what a MG HS looks like

A friend of mine who also has an HS on order has just messaged me with this:

Good Afternoon

My area manager has received communication from MG stating that as from 13:30 today 30/11/22 they have placed an embargo on taxing any more vehicles in the UK until at least the first week of January 23 this maybe explains why cars are going backwards in date sorry for any inconvenience caused

Kind regards,

Not sure why this is but maybe Govt has imposed emissions limits on manufacturer? and MG has hit that limit for this year.

Anyone have any input on why this has happened?

Yep all manufactures have Co2 limits for the year. I seem to remember that MG are in a group with other manufactures and all total for all effects all. Sounds strange, but thats what i rememebr hearing. Whatever it is, it has been an issue for a few years and MG have had to stop petrol regestations in the previous years to keep within limits.

Yeah, have had it confirmed by my own dealer now, oh well I wasn't expecting any delivery until end of quarter one 2023 anyway

MG Motor UK previously joined together with VW UK to pool their CO2 together as MG were selling more EV vehicles at the time but as VW now have their own ID series, I am not sure if this is still the case.

For what it’s worth:- Nathanial Cars (twixt Cardiff & Swansea) are seemingly constructing additional storage areas for overflowing ? - new MGs.
Have noticed deliveries to consumer have now started including mine which I collect on 10th January which I was not expecting given supply issues dealerships are facing so 3 months from placing order is not bad at all

I placed an order via motobility on the first week in June as I am local to you I assume you ordered from Richmond in farlington, I was a bit p**** off to see how quick you got yours, showed the guy these comments and he said you were lucky it was a cancelled order but mine should be with them on the 7/01/23, according to there mg dealer portal still no car 10 days later, he says it’s on the dockside in Bristol awaiting a transporte, I worked in the docks for 18 years as a artic container driver it does not take nearly 2 weeks to get a transporter up from Bristol to Portsmout.

Yeah Richmond Farlington, He didn't tell me it was a cancelled order but knew it wasn't from factory as it has panoramic roof so I assumed it came from one of there other dealerships, I was surprised to get the call as was not expecting until March, they should be getting deliveries any day now as transporters have been spotted on the M5.

Mine is Motability too and has steering ball and left foot flip accelerator.
Hi apologies for butting in to the conversation I am awaiting delivery of my MG Exclusive 1.5 Auto and ordered this in November 22 I was told delivery would be pushed back to Feb due to MG not allowing any cars to be shipped over to the UK due to there yearly Emissions regulations over the Xmas period for a month.

Why I dont know but had emails from dealer and my car is due ti arrive at the docs on the 24 and takes around 2 days for delivery of vehicle to arrive at my dealers around the the end of month for pick up from myself....
I refer posters to my post no. 125. So what is going on there then?
Picked up my new manual HS Exclusive on Friday and first impresions are positive. I'm going from a GS to an HS so it's less about buying a new car and more about upgrading my existing one. Some likes and some dislikes, the interior and materials used is a definite upgrade, the seats feel comfortable and the driving position suits me, which shouldn't be a surprise as I liked the GS driving position. Some things I'm less pleased with are the glass dash and having to use the touch screen to access heating controls etc. My gripe about the glass dash is speed and RPM are digital displays and I'm definitely an analogue person, they also swapped sides for speed and RPM, I'm sure I'll get used to it. It would be nice if the dash was configurable, which considering it's all in software shouldn't be beyond the wit of man. As for the heating controls, I understand why they've done this but it doesn't help when you're driving on a dark road and you just want to increase the temp or change the direction, all of which I could do by touch on the GS.

I ordered the car in early November and having read reports of outrageous lead times I was pleasantly surprised, although the original date I was given was 7th Jan. When I went to order the car , the one one on display had a sunroof, which I like, but was disappointed when I was told that all new orders wouldn't have this but would have privacy glass instead. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find when sitting in the car for the first time that it did have a sunroof. The sales manager hadn't told me about this, thinking it would be a nice surprise, he then explained that it also had privacy glass and that this was one of the last few that would have a sunroof.

Before I ordered the car I got a quote from the MG Affinity scheme, this is open to members of various MG clubs, armed forces, public sector workers etc. and I got, what I think, was a good deal. MG Motors UK Affinity

It's early days but I have high expectations for this car, time will tell

Hi all got the call 25 January pick up 30 January I had just said to my wife if not here by 1 February then it can wait till 1 of march, it’s taken approximately 7 months been sat at Bristol since the 7 jan it is a black hs dct and it feels so much bigger the the Nissan quashi and more solid the doors weigh a ton and the space is better, I do agree the the heating system is so complicated and hard to get right they could maybe change the volume up/down shortcut buttons to be the fan speed that would help as you have volume on the steering wheel. Hope everybody is enjoying their cars my daughter loves it so she tried to get a deal ended up getting an ex mobility mg gs 2018 in bronze with cream leather only 15000 miles. Thanks oh by the way I know mine is brand new but is there a map update as I have to go to Reading crematorium and it’s not on the map it is on Google maps and on my phone.
