HS deliveries

Hi I'm new to this forum
A little bit of my background on my dealings with MG
I ordered a new MG HS Excite Auto in blue early July 2021 and was told delivery would be October 2021 that became November then December now can not get any updates have been told chip shortage then MG are changing the blue and that would be a few weeks hold up until colour update as of 11th January still no delivery date after 7 months, I have found the names of 3 ships MG have used to deliver to UK in the past and have been looking on a ship tracker application but none are near or on way to UK
Can I ask if anyone else is having delivery problems or have heard any news on deliveries from there dealer or any information on ships or shipping routes, it would be nice to find out any information as I'm beginning to forget what a MG HS looks like

Not sure about your deposit, BUT if you have signed a contract stating the final price, they CANNOT charge you extra.
How much deposit did you put down? And if they become an arse, could you afford to loose the deposit and tell them to stick it. Do you have written paper work from last August ?
BUT if you have the original agreement with a SET price, that's your contract with them, and both of you have to abide by that agreement (contract) if either you or them have changed anything within the four corners of that contract, the other have the right to cancel that contract !!
if still not sure where you stand, go down to your nearest citizens advice bureau, they'll put you straight, they DON'T charge, but you can leave a small donation. I think that's your best option ! Remember to take all paper work with you.

if they have broken the agreement you also get your deposit back in full !!

Well I put down the 200 deposit to actually order the car. I had a written up financial agreement sent over to me as a deposit kind of thing showing the vehicle price my deposit left to pay that kind of thing. But nothing signed as I haven't been there yet. They haven't done anything or said anything about the price yet and hopefully they will accept what it is as when I ordered the car was around 17k now its 20k everywhere

If you have written proof that you agreed on a price of £17,000 they CANNOT put the price up, that's your contract.
So have you been back and asked them if they are still keeping to the original price, or are you just panicking they might increase the price??

I'm not panicking about it just wanted to know if they can or not so that when I go there I'm not put in a crap situation. If they do I'll take my money back anyway I won't pay the new price haha

I dont think theres a contract for delivery as all manufacturers cannot give exact dates. So the paperwork is preliminary only.
Like my car was promised for June..then august..now september.
I would assume..the terms you and the dealer agreed over price..should be honoured ...because of consumer protection rights..and you signed to that
So i would contest it..if the price increased..however i ordered via mobility..and if my monthly payments increase..they can keep it...but good luck anyway.

My new HS Excite arrived 6 months after ordering in Jan 22 without DAB radio ( however with cable & ariel attachment ) with the promise of upgrade when available.
Not a deal breaker but annoying nevertheless as MG have a great car but will need to up its game with small customer niggles....I also had to call AA to diagnose a very rough idle speed that fortunately turned out to be a disconnected hose from the brake servo unit , again not a big deal but it was only 2 weeks old !!..

White or black, I've got a black worse choice, shows all the marks, go for the White.

Good news for me got a call from my dealer today telling me my HS white automatic is in the country and pick up will be sometime this month my car was ordered on the 19th of may this year… I did only have the choice of white or black so I think it was a planned shipment

I wouldn‘t strongly argue about the logic already reinforced here that the signed for price has to be honoured, but the devil is in the detail ( small print) and you may (just may) find a clause there that will state the final selling price will be dictated by the retail price at the point of delivery/sale.

Great to hear that you got a reasonably quick delivery , could you please tell me if has DAB radio installed or has it been supplied with aftermarket plug in areil due to chip shortage ?.

My White HS is great but the aftermarket DAB is a bit of a hit & miss & although it may sound a simple issue it's becoming one !

Ordered a HS Exclusive DCT for the wife on 3rd March, we were told the lead time was the end of April. Within a month this changed to early July, then October/November. By the end of May we’d been told there was no build date and the worst case scenario would be Spring 2023. Upto now this hasn’t changed and the last contact we had was about three weeks ago, although they’re now saying it could be the end of the year (I’m sceptical).

The order was placed through a leasing company and I’m a bit concerned that any orders through third party companies will be on the back burner as MG will want to supply their own dealerships first. I myself have been waiting on a Ford (also via lease) since March and this has now been pushed back to January/February, yet main dealers are quoting December for new orders on the same car.

I can’t fault the lease company whatsoever, they’ve been in regular contact with us each month to let us know what’s going on. Just want to know when it’s going to happen as at the moment there’s no scheduled build date and it could likely go past 12 months from the date of order.

Received a phone call today to say my car is ready to collect..seeing i am still on holiday..flying home on the 15th..have arranged to collect on the 21st..so really happy atm..may change when i get it.🤣🤣..seeing the amount of problems i've read about.lol.

Brilliant red..still in bg..flyimg home thursday..i couldnt do Friday because of friday travel home..monday is the queens funeral so everywhere will be closed..wednesday was the earliest..its being kept in the showroom..all cleaned..serviced and updated..so its ready to go. At 1pm apart from paperwork. 🤗🤗
