Hi I'm new to this forum
A little bit of my background on my dealings with MG
I ordered a new MG HS Excite Auto in blue early July 2021 and was told delivery would be October 2021 that became November then December now can not get any updates have been told chip shortage then MG are changing the blue and that would be a few weeks hold up until colour update as of 11th January still no delivery date after 7 months, I have found the names of 3 ships MG have used to deliver to UK in the past and have been looking on a ship tracker application but none are near or on way to UK
Can I ask if anyone else is having delivery problems or have heard any news on deliveries from there dealer or any information on ships or shipping routes, it would be nice to find out any information as I'm beginning to forget what a MG HS looks like

When I took delivery of my MG HS on Friday. I spoke with the dealers and they advised 4000 cars arrived this month and they are expecting another 4000 next month, so hopefully they are starting to get things rolling with all the orders.
They also said that MG has just under 40,000 cars on order just now with 16,000 built and awaiting shipping this is including the ones that have just arrived though.
Don't know how true this is but no reason for them to make it up as I already have my new car😁

The salesguy I dealt with at Perrys was processing 4 deliveries yesterday alone. I was first out the door.

Like most people on here I’m still waiting delivery of my HS which apparently is going to be delivered in July
after initially being told March.
Yesterday my wife got a phone call from the dealer where the order was placed to be told that July is still the delivery month but the vehicle will not have DAB radio but we can run a cable from the glovebox to the USB slot, we can either accept this or cancel our order does this sound correct????.

Sounds like the chip shortages have meant no Dab units are available. So depending on how you view DAB radio could make it a deal breaker for you?Hi all,

Thanks for the replySounds like the chip shortages have meant no Dab units are available. So depending on how you view DAB radio could make it a deal breaker for you?
i don’t know if DAB is a deal breaker I’m just wondering what else can hold up deliver.
Why not call around the dealers and see if any of them have your spec of car in? Either as a preregistration or just sitting in showroom?
We ordered in mid August 2021......this will be my last deal with Arnold ClarkOrdered a HS excite in July on motability wasn't told about the delays until October then said would be January/Feb then phoned in December to say it would be March/April. Hopefully reading your post could be a couple of weeks off🤞🤞

Hi I ordered a hs exclusive dynamic red in January 2022 I was told delivery about may, then June, then July today I received a call from mg Epsom saying August.We ordered a ZS in July and no sign of a build date yet, let alone delivery. Its true Brixton Blue is no longer available. I read a few days ago, that they had stopped all petrol deliveries towards the end of last year to stay within manufactures CO2 requirements. Epsom MG is suggesting a lot of petrol stock is arriving for March.
Been kept upto date with my order by my dealership in Aylesbury, we placed our order at the start of October and have been told we can go get the car in 5days Cant wait , So don't lose hope there's a dock full slowly being despatched to the garages...

It wasn’t the colour that I ordered, nor the colour that it had been swapped to after MG withdrew the Brixton Blue - I only found out that my new car would be black when the hoist installer sent me photos of the installation, the day before collection. Anyway, I do now have my new MG HS with which I am very pleased - worked out most of the new tricks and I only see it’s not a shade of blue when I’m not driving it, or if I ignore seeing the bonnet. 😆

It seems that the microchip shortage continues and after a statement from the CEO of Motability, which arrived the day after I’d been told that my car was then in the county, that the current war in Ukraine would cause additional delays on delivery dates. 🫢

It is a legal requirement for cars to be fitted with DAB (assuming a radio is fitted). At least it was a couple of years ago! It is not a legal requirement to fit DAB
radio..in fact..i would rather not have DAB.
Just to add we ordered our white ZS exclusive at the end of Jan with delivery dates of the end of May. Just called the dealer who says it's now end of August.

Dab radio legality. Google dab car radio legal and all the info is there. As this is a European law I'm not sure if it still applied but it certainly did, from Dec 2020 I believe.
