We ordered a ZS in July and no sign of a build date yet, let alone delivery. Its true Brixton Blue is no longer available. I read a few days ago, that they had stopped all petrol deliveries towards the end of last year to stay within manufactures CO2 requirements. Epsom MG is suggesting a lot of petrol stock is arriving for March.

I originally placed my order on 30th April 2021 & finally collected my new car on 8th April 2022. It wasn’t the colour that I ordered, nor the colour that it had been swapped to after MG withdrew the Brixton Blue - I only found out that my new car would be black when the hoist installer sent me photos of the installation, the day before collection. So I really hadn’t been kept informed.

Anyway, I do now have my new MG HS with which I am very pleased - worked out most of the new tricks and I only see it’s not a shade of blue when I’m not driving it, or if I ignore seeing the bonnet. 😆

I do have DAB radio though, I saw a post from another forum member that they’d been told that DAB was not now available on their ordered car.
From what my salesman said, any colour apart from black or white would not be arriving until later in the year. 😟

It seems that the microchip shortage continues and after a statement from the CEO of Motability, which arrived the day after I’d been told that my car was then in the county, that the current war in Ukraine would cause additional delays on delivery dates. 🫢

Hope everyone gets their new car very soon. I’m loving mine, after the long, long wait. 😊
It is a legal requirement for cars to be fitted with DAB (assuming a radio is fitted). At least it was a couple of years ago! One of the reasons MG dropped their lowest spec models.

Where did you hear about this nonsense
It is not a legal requirement to fit DAB
radio..in fact..i would rather not have DAB.
From 1st September 2020, The Road Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 2020 require all vechicles to be fitted with DAB radios (if they have a radio fitted). It is in UK law passed by both the Houses of Commons and Lords. So I suggest you do some research before calling it nonsense.

A friend of mine who also has an HS on order has just messaged me with this:

Good Afternoon

My area manager has received communication from MG stating that as from 13:30 today 30/11/22 they have placed an embargo on taxing any more vehicles in the UK until at least the first week of January 23 this maybe explains why cars are going backwards in date sorry for any inconvenience caused

Kind regards,

Not sure why this is but maybe Govt has imposed emissions limits on manufacturer? and MG has hit that limit for this year.

Anyone have any input on why this has happened?
Yep all manufactures have Co2 limits for the year. I seem to remember that MG are in a group with other manufactures and all total for all effects all. Sounds strange, but thats what i rememebr hearing. Whatever it is, it has been an issue for a few years and MG have had to stop petrol regestations in the previous years to keep within limits.
