Fraid so.
Would be great if they could be reuploaded. It's an essential thread.

Happy to help with any questions if you need help. I did mine using a combination of Deiter's guide and this thread. It worked for me.

In essence, it's - 'remove nearside engine mount assembly, remove nearside hub and driveshaft, (some other posters removed both) then pull gearbox away 8" or so from engine, which is just enough to replace clutch plates'.

for a number of years I used to have my images hosted by ImageShack, it was a free hosting website

then they decided to go subscription only, and stopped anymore uploads to non subscribers but still hosted your images that were posted before the change

then 6 or 7 months after going subscription only they email me (and the many others too) that we had X number of days to make new links with the images they were hosting for us then they would cut the links

how on earth did they expect me/us to go back and re link all these images to threads going back years

now if i plan on giving a link to a past thread of mine that had images hosted by ImageShack, all people see is the cut link to the photos, what a bum deal from ImageShack

mowog73, my website is still up and working, but because its classed as " insecure " it means all the threads ive made using pictures still stored on my site, dont show up here either... ive had to change them from IMG to URL links... for the threads ive made i think are still important enough for folks to see complete..

so i think its to your credit you still have the thread saved with pics... why not repost it here, ? or, dare i say it, post it on FB, tell folks here the addy?

you can give credit to Bigmac for the new thread, and show the original link... ?

i would be happy to use a copy of the thread on my own site and share it here , but sadly here now i can only use URL links to images on my site ... example even though the IMG links are still there, only the URL link shows up https://forums.mg-rover.org/mgf-mgt.../mgf-rear-brake-refurbishment-rebuild-483590/

ive not looked into making my site "secure" maybe its easy... and free to do... but hey.. a url link to an image is just as good... and saves one trawling through images...

its what i had to do with my rear caliper refurbishment thread for example.. but still sometimes i cant see even the url links...

this site is just becoming too much of a chore to use ...

and by all means anyone can copy my threads here and pictures, since when i am gone, my website will go within a year of me.. and ive no reason to use CLOUD storage... they are my pics, its my thread, when i am dead, i wont care, but i do now. timeline means the pics dont exist before i posted them. so they are traceable to me.

well, mowog73, you have created a new post in one link really.. since the whole original post can be seen... a credit to you.

its not hard to recreate the post, because you have saved the images..

that means they can be recreated , with the text..

like this..

How to replace clutch and flywheel (picture heavy)https://forums.mg-rover.org/mgf-mgt...ce-clutch-flywheel-picture-heavy-254468/After I tortured myself doing it I thought I post it up here for everyone:the whole thing is based on Dieter’s manual: http://www.mgfcar.de/gearbox/clutch_replacement_MGF.htmfirst of all I left the car on the ground, didn’t want to break my back so I did everything as far as I could without raising it:First disconnect the battery

then all you need is a secure site that can host the images

i used google for this example. i uploaded the image, to google plus and then put it the https://forums.mg-rover.org/mgf-mgtf-%2Asponsored-mgfntfbitz-mgf-mg-tf-parts-01457-238202%2A-12/how-replace-clutch-flywheel-picture-heavy-254468/mgf-mgtf-%2Asponsored-mgfntfbitz-mgf-mg-tf-parts-01457-238202%2A-12/how-replace-clutch-flywheel-picture-heavy-254468/ link in this post...

here is the post ive made for example so you can see how i made the picture come back.. "

now... of course i respect the effort, Bigmac made in creating the original post, and why i only show the start and the first image, after all it was Bigmac who made the original.. and Bigmac holds whatever copyright there might be... so i would add Bigmac`s name on every image... again not hard to do.. i havent done that on this first example, since a view of an mgf open bonnet, is not critical to Bigmac`s effort... it could be any mgf open bonnet pic one uses.. or just a pic of a disconnected battery etc.

Snipping tool is one of my favourite programs.

I posted the pdf version of the word document, from where the pictures I suppose could be dragged into a photo hosting website.

I started on the clutch replacement project this past week but I've unfortunately got stuck on the removing the air filter assembly's bracket because one bolt is seized and another bolt's captive nut has broke loose; what FUN! :frown:
