Hi, any ideas how to get the radio cassette out, Iv tried to pull it out no joy. Do you need some special tool? It’s a metro gti 1991 radio looks like a standard issue one and says rover on the cassette flap.
Radio is usualy in some sort of metal cage. Usualy radio have hole (indent) from both sides (RH & LH) and springed tags from both sides of cage enter into that hole preventing radio to move while driving.
Picture of cage:
Point is you need to free these tags from radio in order to remove it. That you can do with two small thin pieces of metal. This is kind of special tool for removal of the radio, but you can find similar piece of metal and do the same.
You should be able to see two thin slots from each side of radio.
