My baby gets washed and waxed every Sunday. Its a labour of love. Only thing that stops me is the weather.

I'd like to get the underside waxoiled but don't have a ramp or axle stands. How often to you lot waxoil?

Washing: Every 3-4 weeks or when it's dirty
Polishing: Twice a year (at the beginning and end of the season)

I think more polishing is definetely not good for the paint, maybe I am wrong ;)

Edit: I checked my underbody and there was only a mini minimum of rust (1998er). The critical points were waxoiled / painted with Hammerite. It looks like new :)

Used to be every week, although what with work and everythig else it hasn't been washed all week and wont be washed for another week, it's like a skip now after a week! :indiff:

I wouldn't mind getting mine clean underneath and waxoiled but i'm in the same situation as you. :)

Does a quick blast over with the jetwash at work count?

Usualy only when Wiggles is looking relly really dirty, or I'm off out.

I did have to wash him the other week, I came hom and he was literaly solid brown with mud from the wheels to just below the windows

I haven’t Waxoiled the TF as it can react to the anti corrosion measures already applied to modern cars and rampant rust doesn’t seem to be a problem on 10 year old F’s so I am inclined to leave alone. However in the summer I may under seal the subframes as the paint is looking quite thin.

We need a waxoil party!
`IF` you could get a few of you together and fancy a day out to Warrington I could help you all out!!...

My Brother-out-law owns a Garage and has had purpose built `Drive up` ramps installed outside his garage for underbody steam cleans, the ramps allow `walk under` access to the car so you could get your cars steam cleaned and waxoiled at the same time!:)

I waxoiled my TF when I bought it :O took a lot of work as getting to the inside of all the box sections was lots of fun, But did find that my 2003 TF had near on no waxoil in it.

Also undersealed lot of bits..:), my TF will live for the next 20 years if I can help it.

As a side note the steel that makes up most of the chassis is very think, so should be very safe.
