Hi

I've been reading this forum for a couple of months now, but this is my first post.

I'm looking to sell my 1.4 ZR to get the 1.8 160 ZR. No way will I part-ex it so am looking to sell privately, not sure how much I should advertise her for though, so I thought you guys could help!

Specs:
Standard 1.4
53 reg
Yellow
37,000 miles
New exhaust (standard rover 25 backbox)
New front tyres
Full service history with stamped log book.
Taxed untill October.
First MOT Due in September
Flew through service at 31,500 miles.

Heres a pic from my phone...

This is the only pic I have at the moment.

It is in good nick, never been smoked in, 2 previous owners, very well looked after. I wash it every weekend :D .

So what do you reckon?

£4000? I should start a bit higher and work down but I would have said aim for 4k. If you see any similar for sale, perhaps check if they are actually sold and bear in mind Yellow is probably the most difficult colour to shift.
Have you had any part ex offers?

I've just this afternoon been offered £4600 part ex for a £5995 160, with 30,000 miles. Do you think this is good, or should I try and sell privately for say £5000? The garage said the lowest they'd go if I bought it would be £5795.

ZR 160 3Dr Hatchback 1.8 VVC [160 bhp] (2004/04)

Average Mileage: 20,000
Price New: £14,995
Insurance Group: 16

Car valuation adjusted for 30,000 miles
Retail: £6,845
Private Good: £5,945
Private Average: £5,395
Private Poor: £4,795
Part Exchange: £5,645
Trade: £5,520

Made a few assumptions about the ZR160 i.e. a bit newer, and a bit lower mileage than the one you're selling.

Judging by these valuations the ZR160 is possibly (depends on whether my assumptions are any good) a good price. And it would seem they are offering you a very good part ex price on your "old" car.

I don't think for one minute you'll get £5000 privately. £4600 seems a great bid to me. Obviously the 160 is a lower mileage, what else are you gaining, equipment wise etc? Sounds like a reasonable deal doesn't it?
