Yeah no problem. Loads of people have done this. Cos ure ZR is lower than say my Rover 200 by 20mm as standard, adding 35mm lowering springs will lower it 2 a total of 55mm. Will improve he looks no end.

You can probably go quite low without having any scrubbing, however it depends on how good your suspension kit is. My ZR is dropped 50mm on 17s with no scrubbing even with 5 people in the car, but the kit is worth about £700. You can get springs for as low as £90 plus fitting, but I honestly have no idea how good they are.
