Where is it? Heated rear window?

 

That looks more like the clock connector to me. Anyway the red wire. Does it have a black tracer? If so it's the illumination wire and with the size of the connector on the end of it it's for the oil temp gauge.

 

It is red/black and it seems the Oil temp doesn't light with the lights on.

However, I can't feel anything to put it on! Where is the connector on the gauge?

Looks like what I thought was the black connection is double sided and takes the red as well. Started raining now so will wait!

 

Hmm. Still no light on the oil gauge. Are the connectors hidden in the black surround or have mine broken off?

Also replaced the MFU and the lights on reminder worked - hoorah!!

However, now the interior lights don't work, so neither does the reminder... Fuses 8 and 12 are OK
