Help - Starter motor

Hey everyone, I have an MG6 1.9 DTi (63 plate) and on Saturday it randomly decided to not start anymore. Today we managed to get it starting via bump starting down a hill in first gear and disengaging the clutch whilst the ignition was pushed in. I've taken it to my local garage and they have confirmed it is the starter motor, but they tell me that this car can only take a new starter from dealers and not aftermarket parts.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is the case? Because these cars are notoriously hard to get official parts for and I could do with my car on the road asap.

Thanks for this!

It's more expensive than I was hoping for. Do you have any experience with non-genuine parts? I've seen some starters that I'm told fit the car but am hesitant to pull the trigger.

These below for example:

Starter for MG MG 6 Hatchback 1.9 DTi 2012-... Diesel 150hp 19D4N (onlinecarparts.co.uk)

We confirm that the item — 2S0042 , Starter motor , RIDEX , 1 — can be returned.
Does not fit completely different fittings and engagement gear
