Hi Guys,
So i have a diesel 220 with a buggered key fob. at the moment i am starting the car by opening the passenger side, putting in and turning the key and then walking round to the drivers side and getting in. The car is booked in at a rover specialist to be have a new fob over Christmas so that's all good. Right so on to the problems. I have mentioned on this forum that i get an intermittent clicking sound when i try and start the engine. this week that problem has disappeared great however a new problem has arisen. upon starting the car this afternoon all was good i got in the drivers side and switched on the lights and the car stops. ummm interesting do diesels need a battery to run? so i start it up again its running ok i put the lights on and its goes dead. so questions:-
I am pretty certain my battery is knackered so if i change it when i disconnect the old one will the immobiliser reset to on or will it stay off. second could a wasted battery be causing the clicking? answers on a postcard.
