Old wives tail here, but maybe worth a go.
Ladies used to put nail varnish on stockings when they snagged them to stop them from laddering. Just might work the same on your mesh.

I used a little blob of black silicone sealant to stop mine running.

What is that?

 

A bit like Sikaflex, but cheaper. A flexible waterproof adhesive. Has a 1001 uses.
Used as a bathroom sealant, comes in clear or different colours- smells of vinegar(acetic acid).

 

Hope it'll last a while mate, should be UV-resistent

 

I have no doubt it will outlast the rest of the windstop. :rofl: The damn stuff is almost indestructible, unless you set fire to it.

Perry, You should be able to get silicone sealant from any plumbers or builders merchants/ DIY superstore near you.
Here is a picture of the stuff I used.

I would have thought a small blob of superglue would look better than a blob of silicone sealant. But then again, I have never done this repair.

 

The advantage of silicone sealant is that you can get it in black to match the material, plus if you **** it up you can pick it off and start again.

To use superglue, you would need to be confident that the glue wouldn't react with the material. I'm not sure what the mesh is made of, but as an example, Cyanoacrylate (superglue) reacts with cotton, exothermically( it produces heat) and, in an extreme case, can cause the cotton to ignite!

Not a lot of people know that.

For sure you do know your glues!

Is there any way to replace the mesh material?

 

I don't see why you couldn't replace the mesh. You just need some way to attach the mesh to the frame.
