When you say high mileage how high?

Most of the problems with 04 cars are electrical such window winders and CL motors so it would be worth checking those.

CL or CDL = Central Door Locking.

At that mileage, I would reckon it is probably in fairly good condition - most of the wearing components in the suspension should already have been replaced Also it will have done motorway miles (the best kind for an engine) So is likely to be in good shape.

Also with that mileage if the head gasket is original and still in tact, it's a fair bet it will be fine for years.

But, Caveat Emptor, get an AA/RAC inspection done on it and haggle. It's a high miler. It's worth mentioning that because it can knock the price down a bit.

Well the asking price is 5999 but it comes with a 2 year warranty and it has a separate hard top too. Am i being ripped off?:err:

 

Sounds reasonable, but check to see what the warranty covers before signing on the dotted line.

The warranty covers any major mechanical breakdown, not brake pads or other general wear and tear components though he did say that the brakes etc would be inspected and changed if needs be before i take it.
