Hi Lofty
Check your rear loom on the left rear hinge in the boot for frayed wires.
Check your door switches IE the ones that operate the internal light, make sure they are in good condition and properly earthed. Also the bonnet and boot switches.

It definitely sounds like you've got a problem with one of the door switches in the door frame just under the lock. Check what happens if you open a door and press the switch in with your finger? If the interior light goes out, then they might just need adjusting so that they meet the door correctly.

Thanks for that do you mean the switch that turns the light out which is on the door pillar Thanks for the garage info i didnt know there was one in Shipley i live in Calverley so only a few miles away

 

Thanks i have checked the switches visually and sprayed them with wd 40 they seem ok the loom in the boot looks ok i will inspect it further at the weekend dont know how to check for bad earth

 

Yes, it's on the pillar. I couldn't think how to describe it.

The same switch that switches the interior light on will also activate the alarm if set.
