Hi all, this is my first post on this site, stumbled on it by accident, but very pleased I did. Bought my tf, only a 115, about 6 months ago for 12k with only 6k on the clock. Even though its only the 115, I love it but have been a bit concerned about all the recent press coverage etc at yesterday I went to the dealer where I bought my car from, an arnold clark in glasgow, they told me that if i wanted to trade in my tf they would only give me 8k, got me really panicking now (they have similar cars on the forecourt at 12.5k) this was after the first salesman in another AC garage told me he had to test drive my car "to make sure the wheels would not fall off"....needless to say I left him with a sore ear...and almost a sore lip as well.

Is all this just paranoia at the minute....are they trying to fleece mg owners. Wanted to make you aware of what they are upto...no doubt you all already realise that any way.

As i say I love my car and didnt want to get rid of it anyway.

Arnold clark are continuing to cover the manufacturers warranty if you bought your mg from them.

Welcome to our little haven Hamilton TF, we are very friendly, and only a few bite.

There is an aweful lot of unkowns at the momemt, people will try to take advantage of the situation. The best thing to do IMO is to sit back and wait to see what happens, in the mean time, enjoy your TF, and don't panic, even if MG do not survive, you've got yourself a classic car, and you can always get a third party warrenty if that side of it bothers you.

Repeat of what Pete said really: nobody knows what is going to happen over the next few months. Worst case is right now when panic can set in, both owners and dealers.

You bought it because you wanted it, not as an investment. Cars always lose value (unless they are at least 30 years old). Summer is coming, you have wonderfull roads and scenery within easy reach so get out there and enjoy.

Have you made contact with the F/TF section in Scotland? http://www.csmgf.co.uk/ and contact David Clelland. We shall be coming up to the Highlander event @ Aviemore over the May Day weekend.
