Headlight upgrade. What are my options.

I want to upgrade the headlight bulbs in my ZT to the white light ones (not the blue tint ones!). The car has standard halogens at the moment but i find them a bit to yellow and not quite bright enough in certain conditions. What are my options. I have heard the extra load can damage the loom and/or the light switch or relays. I don't want to upgrade the wattage, just the type. I have read that the Osram Silver Tips are good, but (as I say) I am concerned about load on the wiring, etc.

Cheers

Look forward to seeing your opinion. I used to drive a Vectra (somebody had to  ) and put some of the Halfords blobs in but could barely notice any difference.

Can somebody also please confirm - H1 for the mains, and H7 for the dips on a 2002 ZT 2.5 V6 ??

Ta!

Well, lights are in....not hit the local country roads to test in ultra darkness...

but first impressions are v.good

very noticable improvement on sidelights with the free Phillips upgrades. The light these give off is ALOT crisper and whiter as opposed to yellowy.

Headlights give off a more intense light.

Objects in the distance are indeed clearer and again the light is crisp and white.

Full beam will get a more thorough testing on the local wooded/country roads where there are no street lights. I would deffinately recommend them.

A more thorough testing to follow
