hi all, my recently acquired TF 135, the hardtop has the cardboard, (if that's the correct material)missing that the head liner attaches too.

I believe these are called a "Biscuit"

are these available online anywhere?

thanks in advance

The last I heard they are no longer available, if you can get one SH that's not perfect they can be repaired. I repaired mine using strips of newspaper soaked in waterproof PVA adhesive which when dry is tougher than the original biscuit, just cross layer it like fibreglass.
Just thought there is a company on Facebook? that does binnacles and cubby's for the TF maybe they do one, I think it's called Jakabi Design may be worth asking.

I’ve got a couple of hardtops that I’m re-lining. Both ‘biscuits’ are made from fibreglass.
I’ve seen a replacement part in the Rimmers catalogue, not sure on price!
Item 28 plus the part numbers shown in photo.

There’s a I’m no fibreglass expert but I’d imagine that a biscuit could be moulded in fibreglass using the (isolated so it doesn’t stick) hard top shell and trimmed to size?

Just googled the part number out of curiosity, no longer available with rimmers or other mg specialists and none on ebay either...which wasn't actually a surprise.

I can't see anyone making these as you'd need one to make a mould, cannot see there being much demand and the size makes it difficult to post. I would assume once a mould was made they would be cheap enough to make though. One other thing, I've never seen, apart from the OP's post anyone looking for one

#4 I agree Dert not enough demand which is why the major suppliers don't stock them as it's not worth ordering a run to sit on the shelf. Perhaps Steve #3 should take a mould from one of his and then rent the mould out as I doubt even doing a small run as an individual would cost in. Enthusiasts like most of us on here never cost in our own time (enjoyment?) which is how it should be but business is a different animal.
I'm just annoyed that I have a biscuit that definitely wouldn't survive a dunking! which according to folklore is how it got its name.

Ouch!! I think that does take the biscuit.
If you look on-line, Facebook alone has quite a few forums you can pick up a complete hard top for less than that, if you can't find a Trophy Blue one get one with good trim/biscuit and swap them over.

Agree - VERY expensive. Buy a good matching / contrasting hard top for £150. You can always get it sprayed if you can’t get on with the colour. At least the paint will then be perfect 🤩

found a company 10 mile away from me in Wolverhampton who can supply a fully trimmed one with black vinyl for £280

MGF Centre, Wolverhampton. going over next weekend to have a look
Damn, for £280 I'd sell you a complete hard top in silver or black with a new headlining :O Sold an unused (as in 3 miles to bring home) LE500 orange hard top with leather lining for only £280 last year

Hi, so have you got the fittings to attach the top to the car? If so I think that I would be inclined to but a piece of thick plain carpet and stick it directly to the top. After all the liner is only there to make it look nice and deaden the sound a bit. Just an idea. Regards. D4KGP.

Great idea! I’d choose a very lightweight carpet and use a high temperature glue

You've not removed a biscuit from a hard top then? everyone knows the biscuit is there to allow black mould to grow between the biscuit and the hardtop itself :p

???????????? Yes I have removed one, don't understand your point. D4KGP.
I've relined around 8 hard tops, each one has had black mould on the inner side of the hard top which has only been visible once the biscuit has been removed...so my post was meant as a joke :)

Cheer's, lost some of my sense of humour last month when I lost my cancerous bladder. Not a joke. Regards. D4KGP.
