If I was to put some decent grease on the springs on the clutch arm in the footwell, will the clutch feel any lighter when I push it down?

My clutch is heavier than Id like so Im interested in finding ways to improve its action!

Probably not. Check the routing of the cable. It shouldn't be too difficult to press the clutch down.
