i had one almost fail on me, went onto ebay and did a search for 'rover locking nut key' and the number on mine, think i had to try a few re-worded searches to actualy find it, but i now have a perfect locking nut key.
Again this is late ones. Early ones used a better system with 5 points on them. The later ones used a 2 or 3 point system and the even later ones used the McGuards.I would personally get rid of the original locking nuts, the lock nut keys may as well be made of chocolate they are so weak.
Tis true two silly points on mine one broke straight away, luckily had a better set of after market ones lying around my workshopI would personally get rid of the original locking nuts, the lock nut keys may as well be made of chocolate they are so weak.
I'll have a go at the socket. I was told to get a splined socket and grind the face of it so it is kinda sharp, and it will cut it's shape over the nut as it's hammered on. I have a box of old spare sockets lying around here somewhere.Cheap 19mm socket hammered on will get them off. Had all 4 of mine off like that in minutes.
Yeah, the socket is very soft. It isn't even round any more. It's more of an egg shape. They really aren't up to much.I would personally get rid of the original locking nuts, the lock nut keys may as well be made of chocolate they are so weak.
