i have recently fitted an aftermarket gear knob to my 200 bubble and i was just wondering....

there is a plastic clip kinda thing that used to keep the faux leather (thats fake leather lol) from falling down on the standard knob. is there any way of taking this out and puttin the leather inside the base of the knob which unscrews...

sorry if it seems a bit vague

thanx in advance!

noo, dont do that, lol

You can buy some special stuff (not sure of the name of it) but describe it like this to a hardware store:

It is a type of tape used to put on the thread of screw's etc to increase the size :D

Put some of that in.. It specially cuts and re grooves it etc. :)

Yeah plumbing PTFE is white but you can get some electrical stuff from hardware/diy places and it comes in different colours to match the type of installation....Red, Green and Black for electrical etc, its NOT the rubberised electrical tape though, much thinner grade made from thin strips of cotton like material bonded together which then threads to whatever application its used on....Hope this helps.....

Just remove it, it pulls out. There is a rubber ring inside that holds it on when you take it out, put this back and the gaiter will stay up on it's own. If it doesn't put an elastic band around the gear shaft at the top and slip the rubber ring over it.
