It's not hard to change, but like most things in the TF engine bay a bit of pain due to access, it is a spanner job unlike the crappy plastic connectors Vauxhall use. The one in the link should be fine.

The fuel filter, if blocked would it also make the car feel a little sluggish? or would the ECU pick it up as a fault?

 

If not enough fuel is getting to injectors that the engine starts to miss-fire then the ECU will pick it up a fault, the fuel filter should be changed every 4 years (or 60K miles if sooner), both times the filter has been changed on my car's engine it always seems to feel better. Even if this doesn't help your problem it will do no harm.

 

Mine was a pain in the posterior because the previous owner had over-tightened the bolts, which are small and tend to melt like warm butter once you put any amount of force on them.

Unfortunately they're also part of the pipe and replacing them would entail replacing the pipe.

 

For the price and simplicity I'f go for it

FTO filter - at least an hours job with lots of cuts, swearing and lying under the car/stretching down into engine bay involved

MGTF - seven minutes then walking away full of smugness to get a congratulatory beer over a job well done

 

The TF doesn't start properly unless you wait for the fuel pump to charge up, someone mentioned it might be the fuel filter.

Just wondering how hard this is to change, and would the one in the link below fit?

If you've ever done the one on your DTx Astra, the TF is a piece of piddle in comparison...
