I've tryed using a plusgas type spray but still stuck on there...

Anyone any tips?

I've thought about using heat but as its closed to the scuttle panel etc I'd have to be very careful...

Anyone had one snap off? (Mines felt like it was going that way if I put more stress on it) What could be done if it did snap?

This might be one for the mobile guys as Im sure they have came across this at some point?

Yep, its for the heater matrix, if its seized heat wont be alot of use as youll need to heat the area around it not on it. Try giving it a hit with a soft mallet, sometimes this is enough to crack the threads, or tighten befor trying to loosen, as i said plusgas takes time sometimes.

Had the same problem with mine being tight. nothing would shift it but when it did come free it came off with the brass bush it was screwed into. It was a new matrix after that which meant dashboard out. It was a learning experience on how to remove the dashboard but I wish it had been easier...
Also the bushing is soldered into the matrix, so not too much heat...
Good luck....

Plusgas, wait and try, if fail, try again.... took me 3 days and 8 shots of Plusgas to get mine to loosten........

Some garages have vacuum coolant fillers, they are also on sale at many car part shops, not a hard job, make a vacuum and fill the whole system, that, apparantly is how Rover filled them so if you can find a garage with one you might get around the nipple problem....

Hi, I had a similar experience. Finally I applied penetrating oil (socked overnight) then tried tightening the nipple first followed by fitting a good socket spanner with a long leaver then anticlockwise and it came undone.
I too was concerned with breaking the seal between the matrix and brass adaptor. Good luck
