Fob reprogram

Hi, I know there are a lot of discussions on here about replacement fobs but wanted to ask a question.

I need to replace my fob, my local genuine Rover garage want £108 for a new fob, or £35 to reprogram and old one.

My local non genuine Rover garage (full of ex rover mechanics) charge £55 for a new one but don't do reprogramming on ebay bought units.

It's therefor not worth my buying one for around £20 on ebay and paying £35 to have it reprogrammed, I might as well get a new one with warranty for £55.

My question is therefore : If I have the key code card can I get a fob reprogrammed via a cheap web company? I'd obviously have to post it to them, but was wondering if anyone knew of any?

Thanks
Louis

These instructions contain a simple step-by-step guide

for you to program your remote key fob.

It is a special sequence of keys to press. It is very easy to follow.
You've just bought a page out of your handbook it looks like

To re programme the key it has to be with the car as the programming is done on the ECU. Avon Diagnostics do sell kits to program your fobs to the car, but it's far easier to get a local place to do it. Remember take ALL your fobs there as when they code one it wipes out the others so they have to do them all at the same time.
