I have a new Slick Shift kit still sat in the garage. I was waiting to change the carpets and remove the centre tunnel before attempting this, and the time has almost arrived.

I had the bell crank end fitted by Tech Speed, so the top part (shift mechanism) just needs fitting. Is it just a case of removing the old one and installing the new one?

I have looked at this 'How To':

But is there anyone here who has had experience in doing this themselves?

Cheers :)

But I'm sure he'll swear blindly that he has no recollection of how it went in or anything that it involved :sofa:

It was fairly straightfoward to be honest. The hardest (time consuming) part was stripping out all of the interior that needs to be removed. Take your time with that and label pots with where the 101 screws come from and you'll be fine :broon:

I did mine, and it is a big task. (although I did my cables too-an absolutely hellish job!)
If you are taking the console out that really helps.
Basically it goes; T-bar out, console out (radio etc)unbolt the SRS unit and move it out of the way (no need to disconnect but it's a good idea to have the battery disconnected as there will be lots of loose wires about), pop off the cable ends and unbolt the shift assembly, remove the original cable ends and install the Satur ones. Next bolt in the Satur shifter and hook up the cables. If you are adding the Satur bellcrank assembly install it........Then the PITA part-cable adjustment.:err:
Then put everything back together!
