I'm trying to source a VP30 fuel injection pump for a 25 TD. My garage said that buying second hand is not a good idea as it would need to be coded to the ECU.

Is this right as everything else that I've read seems to just suggest it's a matter of making sure the timing is OK?

Has anyone fitted one of these? I'm guessing it's a garage job? I'm not bad with a socket set but I presume getting them set up is reasonably difficult?

Thanks

I can't be sure but I think there is some coding to be done.

Hang on - the VP30 has it's pump ECU on the pump, I'm sure it's a bolt on and go job.

Back in 2 tics.....

Thanks Dave.

I've managed to source a pump for £200 delivered so hopefully if you can confirm that no recoding is required we might get back on the road for a not too bad price.

I think the main engine ECU needs re-coding to the alarm/immobiliser ECU if replaced, or vice versa, but have never heard of the pump ECU needing re-coding if changed. I'm no expert mind!
