i'm not the first to put a rover badge on a ZR grille apparently, but i'm pretty sure nobody has one like mine!

made it by cutting the centre section out of a 25 grill then gluing, filling and smoothing it into the zr grille (which had to be sanded a fair bit to get it to fit! the badge i used is the one in a 200 tailgate handle, so it has a curved back that fits nicely.

now i can say with pride that my car isn't a ZR rep! first time i've actually posted a pic of my car on here i think, comments are welcome of course, but it's nothing you've not seen before apart from the grille i guess...

ha cheers for the compliments. i only mess with my car for my own satisfaction, but it's nice to know people like what i've done with it! :broon:

i think 1.4 rover 25s confuse a lot of people on the roads as it is. had a slammed beemer cut into my lane to shine his headlights on my badge (presumably to make sure i was driving a 160) as he failed to overtake me this evening!

if you know what the 25 grille looks like you'll know there's a recession for the badge that ends at the top part of the grille so when i cut it out the top part of the recession was missing. i considered hollowing it out with the dremel, abd using the original flat front grille badge, but the curved rear one looked so much better!

as it is the lower half of the badge is recessed, and the top part sits flush so it only looks a bit stuck on in person. i made a couple of mistakes painting it that show up close so at some point i may well go back and really make it perfect, and hollowing out the top part will probably be a part of that.

Nice work chap! That's come out really well, fancy doing one for me? ;)
sorry, i really don't have the time at the moment, and as my car is just about finished i've resigned to take a little time off from modding too!

i do however highly recommend trying this though. it's actually a lot easier than it might look, and came out much better than i thought it would. i'm happy to give any advice about the materials and methods i used if someone does have a go.
