Well guys and gals its time for me to go im afraid, before I say why I'd just like to thank everyone on here who gave me some great advice in the past.

Now on to the reason, 4 months ago my partner found out she was pregnant which I was very happy about. Last sunday she went up her mums as she hadnt seen her for a while, next thing I know I get a call saying shes been taken into labour. So obviously I rushed straight down, I got 1 mile before my rover broke down yet again. Everything electrical died but battery still working. So I gave up with it unfortunately, went to Trade Center Wales and I picked myself up a 08 Plate Vauxhall Astra 1.8. I part-ex the rover and my 57 plate fiesta in and had only £600 left to pay off.

So I now swopped a 2007 fiesta and a 1996 rover for my glorious FTO GPX Mivec and my new Astra. And I have to admit the astra is a million times better than the rover and the 140 bhp 1.8 engine is lovely. So thanks for everything guys and I hope you have trouble free motoring

Regards
Matt

PS- The other halfs birth was fine, no problems and I now have a baby son named Jason :D

Yer it was pretty good but at least im down from 4 cars down to 2 lol. And thanks I will enjoy every minute of being a parent. (Except the nights) lol
Congratulations! and hey an astra is a very very good car. keep safe.
Cars do pick their times to break down don't they!!
Congratulations! I hope everything on that Astra goes well mate.

Depends what car it is!
When my better half went into labour, I lashed my 3 series Coupe from Southport to Ormskirk without any serious incidents

But yea, you're gonna love being a parent. Little Jason is now the King of you're Castle. No one ever is prepared for it, and it will totally change you're life.
I know I wasn't ready lol had to quickly move out of Coupes and into Sensible Family sized hatchbacks (Mondeo).
Those little problems at 3:00 AM will test you, but theres so many little moments you'll find which more than make up for it.
Take care.

And now i'm getting out of here before the mob hang's me for mentioning a BMW and a Ford on these forums, and in the same post no less.

Shame mate, but do stick around! Glad to hear that everything went well with the birth etc!

What are FTO's like to drive? Power? I've always fancied one but they seem like a poor mans Toyota Supra to me lol.

Ric I think you need to go and wash your mouth out with soapy water.

Congrats on the new arrival Matthew, and sorry to hear about the break down at the worst possible moment, hope you made it to the hospital in time. And as has been said before, your little bundle of joy will test you at times, but when that happens just remember everything he does that makes you smile and you'll soon forget about the 1am, 2am, 3am etc wake up calls, and when he gets that bit older and starts giving you those cheeky little smiles you'll find that you can never be upset with him for long, even if he did just pour coke into your laptop (voice of experience lol).

I will do mate thanks, and yer its fantastic car and its great for little jason as well with it being a 5 door and being spacious and all :)

Thanks Shammy, yer the birth had no problems whatsoever. My FTO is great to drive to be honest mate. Im one of the lucky few which has the manual gearbox. They are very hard to come by. And the 2.0 litre V6 engine is lovely. Produces 200bhp and sounds fantastic when the Mivec kicks in. I would highly recommend them :)

Unfortunately I missed the birth, and I cant put it into words how gutted I am that i missed it. Wanted to be there for my partner and all that. But unfortunately s*** happens aint it.

Dont worry we've had the sleepless nights all ready, but seeing him just sleeping and all peaceful does make me put a big grin on my face :)
