i was wondering if anybody has had problems with electric windows on an mg tf.
the one on my passenger door just won't open.
if you press the window button you hear a click coming from the door but nothing else happens.
does anyone have any ideas on how i can get this fixed or what might be causing it.

cheers

Unfortunately it’s a very common problem with the winder mechanism/motor usually requiring a new unit from Xpart or try specialists such as Mike Satur, Brown & Gammons and MGF Centre.

I replaced my window motor not so long back, it's not a difficult job. I followed this how to and you could pick up a motor easy enough from ebay something like this item

You could also look for the drivers side rear motor from a rover 400 which will almost certainly be cheaper, but it does require a little modification to get it fitted.

I wouldnt be going to xpart, they would want around £250 for a whole mechanism! were you can get a motor from a scrappy from £5.
