Can anyone help me.

My Rover 75 Tourer (2003 plate) has broken down 3 times since I purchased it 2 years ago. The last two faults have been the same problem, the car cuts out (usually on a dangerous busy road). The AA repaired it yesterday and stated it was the Fuel pressure accumulator that had become mis-aligned. I have now lost confidence in the car. I have been in touch with a local Rover dealer/repairer and he has advised that a clip can be fixed. Will this do the trick or am I best getting rid of the car?

Worried.

Hi and welcome.

Commonish problem fuel filter sometimes called fuel module comes apart, fuel pressure lost and car will not start.

Yes there is a clip to prevent this. Once applied to the filter stops all the problem.

Clip available at X Part dealers and cost about £5/£7.

Little bit surprised that this has not been suggested to you before cos as I said not an uncommon problem.

Hope this helps

As said above, the addition of the clip will sort it. Its not a difficult job so check the price with the dealer beforehand. It should take them well under one hour all in.
