Don’t have a diesel myself but if the car is that new you should have one but isn’t obd specifically for engine & gearbox. To get info on things like light switches (lsm module) then you need a bit extra like TOAF, a free, easy to use programme. Find yourself a cheap laptop running anything from Window XP onwards, a lead, and download the TOAF programme. Run it first in read only (not write) and find your way around the programme. If you clear all faults and some return then that’ll give you an idea where the problem lies.

Many of us use it and while there are some limitations, like later models SRS systems and 1.8 ECU, most feel, well I do that I’ve got my own Rover diagnostic T4 in my own garage.

Toaf is freeware, donate if you wish, if it solves the problem then donate a bit more! More on TOAF in the stickies.

Regards
