Hi all

Something is rattling on my car by the exhaust it’s really loud and embarrassing. It's a really tinny rattle and I am 99% certain it’s the exhaust heat baffle near the center of the car – it looks really corroded with bits missing from it / almost hanging off etc. The exhaust itself seems fine.

Anyone got any idea how much this would be to replace and if it’s a simple job for my local exhaust centre?

Thanks

Pete

I've got this problem as well. Rattles when pulling off or going over bumps. I'll try & get a sound clip to see if it's the same as tgbyhn10's noise. Any info on how serious it is would be good *prays it's not an expensive job*

I've got a similar problem on a 216. There's a really tinny rattle between 2-2500rpm. It's 100x worse when the car is fully loaded, (Moved house yesterday, so car was quite heavy. When i filled up with petrol it started doing it on idle too) Goes away completely after 2500rpm. Took it to an exhaust centre, who put it up on ramps and checked it over, said that he couldn't see anything wrong with it.

What should i be checking?
