Help needed urgently, mot is tomorrow. I have a '96 Escort van and the airbag warning light is flashing. It has been doing it since I bought it but the mot is tomorrow. I've checked the connections for the seat belt pretensioners and they seem ok. Is there any reset procedure that I could follow? Thank you for any help, Ian.

Hopefully thats the case but my mot station are a little bit keen on failing. I know that the van has had a lot of battery problems so I was just hoping that someone knew a method to reset it. I've tried pulling the fuse and putting it back in. When the fuse is out it illuminates constantly and when its back in it just keeps flashing when the engine is running.

It will fail with a flashing SRS light on. Depends on the discretion of the tester, but officially its a fail.

not a fail with srs light on pass and advise no listing on the mot to enter a fail ,any way look at the yellow connectors under the seats no end of trouble pull apart a couple times then see if the light comes on ,or cut out conector and solder the wires back together,i have changed a few air bag modules though but rare.

Thank you all for the input. I took it for test as it was and the tester said that its fine because it's not a main restraint unlike a seatbelt. It still failed though. Rusty sill, suspension ball joint, headlight beam pattern and a outer cv gator. I've got those all fixed now ready for the retest on monday. The ball joint was tough, the old one was riveted on and had to be drilled out. @@@@ ford.
