I have recently had a flat battery, now i notice that when the car ignition is turned off there is like an electroinc whistle in the engine bay.
If i disconnect and reconnect the battery it stops.
But the next time i start and stop the car the noise returns.

Any ideas Please

The whining noise is normal and normally lasts for a few minutes after the ignition has been turned off. I believe it is one of the sensors that makes this noise.

Thanks

Just been back to car after half hour noise has stopped , at first i thought it was that that had drained the battery.

Thanks again.

Perfectly normal it is the stepper motor in it's power down phase. It does this to prevent damage to it's windings..
