What are the possible problems that can arrise from changing over an ecu unit? is it a simple change over and nothing needs re-configuring or are there hidden problems that will crop up
Later ECU's are coded to the immobiliser unit I think so after swapping it over the engine will only run for a second or so before the immobiliser cuts in I think.
Depends on which car. All MK2 200's and MK1 400's with a Rover alarm need the ECU coding. All MK3 200 and MK2 400 and the 100 and Minis from 97 need coding as does the current range of cars and the MG-F. The only cars that do not is the Metro and Mini with the one button fob.
