Dont forget to take the finisher off prior to fitment

Actually thinking abut it you might get away with only taking off the Left hand finisher. Its the RHS one which is trickier. Make sure they are all tightened up and not loose before driving off.

The trick to fitment is to not tighten any of the bolts up until everything is in place

I'll do better. I'll pay the postage and send you back your choice of:

1. Land Rover Lightweight
2. Mrs. Northend
3. Both.

Saves me ebaying the Landy and listening to Mrs. Northend ask me when we will get some drive space back! :D

Also I received my TT the other day too - not looked at it properly though yet. Although it's very very shiney!!!

How is the TT sounding Jamie?

I had the windscreen replaced on the big car yesterday, so had to go to work in the little car. We recently moved our head office to York so I now have 30 miles or so on the A1 and A64 into work and the pipe sounded good at motorway speeds with the hood up (sorry Art, but it was mucky weather).

It is still at its best on the winding country roads where you can play with the gears and revs - that is why I love the last 5 minutes to the office

Still not fitted - I'm going crazy mate, it's still lounging around in the sitting room, and we've got a run with MGFreedom tomorrow, was hoping to have it sorted :(

Today was the first day we've had Mungo out since the poor weather rolled in, so Tina and I popped along to our local tame garage to fit it but they were closed!! I'm back at work next week until Wednesday, then I'm off until 2011 so there are NO excuses for not getting it done next week.

Weeee..... finally booked in to fit tomorrow, around 11ish :D

Shall be sad to see the stainless steel sculpture in the living room go... but I guess it's better off hanging under Mungo.

Must remember to get a before/after video comparison.

Before

After
(turn on your subwoofer!)

Verdict?

Pretty awesome. What a transformation - this is the way sports cars should sound. That deep bass rumble is goosebump-inducing even at idle, but as many folk have said before me, remarkably civilised when not being thrashed. Haven't had it on the motorway yet, but at 55mph you knew it was there, but not intrusive at all. I'll report back after a few hundred miles to see whether the exhaust note does indeed 'mature'.

Neil, many thanks, we're both delighted. I can only apologise for not supervising the fitting as I had to go drop family off at the airport - as you can see it's a little squint, but nothing I shouldn't be able to rectify myself now that the fittings are stainless all round (the guy didn't want to bend the hanger). It was fitted at our local tyre/exhaust specialist, he's a Porsche man but even he was grinning :)
