Well I put my HT on the 2nd October and there has only been one day when I have regretted doing so, its your car. If you fit it when the ambient temperature is relatively warm its seems to fit better, I can only assume the rubber seals have more give in them.

You put the HT on when you feel like it. It isn't dependant on the weather. The ST won't get damaged by a bit of water, in fact that's what you use when you wash it. Whatever you do, please don't put the HT on until you are sure the ST is 100% dry and has had a fresh spray of waterproofing (Fabsil or similar is easy).

stu@rt could have put his HT on for MGF10 - who would have spotted it behind the blue/brown ensemble. An opportunity missed stu@rt.

 

It will be coming out of its storage box at the weekend then, because its brand new from the supplier and covered in protective film and stuff will i need to give it a coating of wax to protect it when all the packaging is removed??

btw it's made of plastic - spray it with Mr Sheen pot pouri.

No the HT came with the car so it has been already properly set-up. The passenger side does have a sometimes leaks around the door mirror mounting but this is the same if the hood is up or down so I suspect its more to do with the seal between the door and the windscreen.

I personally don't think the HT needs to be waxed. I do polish mine from time to time (or did until 18 months ago when I took it off). Mr Sheen is a polish and contains some wax.

 

thats handy then! has anyone had their seals properly adjusted for both the S/HT? how much did it set you back if you did?

Yes otherwise the colour wont match between the HT and the body. Also it stops the build up of water on the HT so it reduces the likelihood of a wet seat/leg when you open the door.
